It's true that lots haikus don't make sense at all. In some ways, this haiku doesn't make sense, but it actually does. https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=W0lmsiFS&id=8F87C215EE98CA4F07B2972FD705CBD9038953CB&thid=OIP.W0lmsiFS0gEe7iOH2jH7qwHaF6&mediaurl=http%3A%2F%2Fs11.favim.com%2F610%2F160211%2Fhaiku-life-love-painful-Favim.com-3980481.jpg&exph=487&expw=610&q=haiku+about+love&simid=607993412247227539&selectedindex=49&ajaxhist=0 I like this haiku because it's strongly emotional...

Evaluation of the written course work last year

Julia: Literary analysis: 5 Performance: 10 Conclusion: 4 Sam: Literary analysis: 5 Performance: 8  Conclusion: 5 Julia's literary analysis is very well-written because she supported her ideas with examples and actual quotes in the script. She also used the quotes from the early part of the play to compare with the part that she's acting to bring out a clear difference on Romeo. Her explanation of the actual performance was very good as well. She explained the details of her performance and the intentions of those details. The conclusion part was kind of short because she spent too many words explaining her performance. Overall, this example is amazing.  Sam did a really good job explaining her feelings of being Juliet and how she felt before/after playing the character of Juliet. However, the word "foreshadowing" was mentioned too many times. It was nice to see it in the beginning for several times to feel the highlighting. However, after s...

Third Draft

The Struggle and the Runaway of an “Outsider” IB Literature&Performace-B Nan Zhou March 9, 2018 My group performed the last scene of The Glass Menageries. In order to provide the audience with enough background information about the situation,we decided to start from Jim’s explanation to Laura from page 64 of the book. I played the role of Jim in this scene. In many ways, it was a challenging role to play. Firstly, it is not easy to play a character in the opposite gender than me. The fact that there is no strong emotion involved in his part made it even harder. However, I still chose to play this role because I want to find out more about him and his feeling towards the Wingfields. Does he feel sympathetic to them or is he just trying to leave a good impression to them? In the book, Jim was really popular when he was in high school. Laura’s quote “You were always surrounded by your own friends so much that I never had a chance(to ask for your autograph)” (P.58) showe...

Self-evaluatoin

3.5 for the part of the literary analysis. 7 for the part of the performance. I gave myself a 3.5 for the part of the literary analysis because I think I provided lots evidence for my explanation and they are mostly efficient.  However, the literary analysis is lack of creativity. I should either add more details in or try to find more ways to approach my points of view. For the performance part, I explained the details and our plans for it in a logical order. It's easy to understand and to have some images in minds as I read along. However, it is more of an explanation. It's just like telling some facts instead of illustrating something interesting. I should adjust my wording more and try to make it more amusing for people to read.  I didn't grade the third part of the written coursework because the part that I put on as my second draft hasn't started to talk about it yet. Overall, my essay is in a good shape with clear logic and order. But th...

Laura’s quote “You were always surrounded by your own friends so much that I never had a chance(to ask for your autograph)” showed how much he was loved by others.  However, the spotlight on him had somehow faded. When he met Laura, who reme...

Musical Review

Do you hear the people sing? Les Miserable is the second Musical that I attended in Cheshire Academy. It was performed four times in Cheshire Academy black box on February 21 and February 23-February 25. Directed by Jennifer Guarino. The musical is based on Victor Hugo’s work, Les Miserable. I played Enjolras in this production. The story of Les Miserable took place in Paris, France. A man named Jean Valjean was a slave for 20 years because of stealing a piece of bread to save his sister’s son. He met a bishop who gave him a lot of silverware after he ended his service. He became the mayor of a little town. However, years later, Javert, the officer who had been searching to arrest Jean Valjean came to the town. Before he was arrested again, Valjean rescued the daughter of one of the ladies that worked in his factory. The girl is named Cosette. He ran away with the child. Another few years passed, the revolution begins. Valjean and Cosette were giving out food and money to the p...
