5. Select a passage from a novel you have chosen to study which provides an effective introduction of an important character or characters. How would you use staging, design and acting to ensure that this introduction would have dramatic importance for the audience? I will stage the introduction of  Gabriel, Daniel's father. In chapter 5, page 50, he appeared in the story for the first time.  Sound of the helicopter appears first, indicating his unusual transportation type, contrasting with the car sound that Ti Moune dream of hearing.  Coming on stage with some securities following him, and a crowd of villagers further away. The villagers are curiously observing him but afraid to come closer. If I am the director of the play/musical of My Love My Love, I would like to focus on the visions that the audience see. In my opinion, this story is very "colorful". I would like to use colors to show not only the identity of each character but also to express the change of atmosphere of the environment that the characters are in.  As shown in the pictures, in the beginning, the set pieces and the customs will be more natural and bright-colored. But in the hotel, everything will be very neatly managed to show the limitation under that environment.

How to custome her to show she’s not just a peasant but also a dreamer / outsider? I want her to be in a blue dress, simple designed and easy to move in. There will be some dusts and slight rips on her dress from working in the fields day after day. She will ware a pair of red sandals that matches the dress. She will have long black hair with curves because that can represent her Caribbean identity. She will have a tan skin tone to represent the healthy and energetic body of hers. She will not put any makeup on except for red lipstick. Meanwhile, all other peasents will dress in dark colors to form a comparison with Ti Moune. None of the other females will have lipsticks or makeup on either. This way, the audience can notice visually that she is different from everyone else in the village. Or at least she want to make herself different from others. The red shoes has special meaning too.
